The reason why I posted this topic was to show the power of suggestion from ourselves and outside sources. If you put an idea out in the open, bad or good, nine times out of ten it will happen somewhere down the future. This is true especially when Murphy's Law takes effect with bad ideas.
One example is wanting a Fender Stratocaster so bad that you constantly think about it, unwillingly compromising your other priorties from this deep "wanting". Down the road you eventually save up for one and purchase it even if you felt like they were to much to begin with at first. Even worse you purchase it and wish you hadn't.
This is consumeration at it's worst or best, getting something that you thought you admired from a far and actually getting the "goods" that someone enticed you into getting.

Possessing an almost hypnotic earthy beauty that perfectly compliments her effectively understated acting style, Jenny Agutter made a lasting impression on cinema lovers worldwide with appearances in such films as The Railway Children (1970), Walkabout (1971), and Logan's Run (1976).

I liked the Railway Children, and also Logan's Run (the movie version), although the best (apart from Miss Agutter) about that film was of cours Sir Peter Ustinov. Legend.

Put down the crack pipe. Now. NA might help.

If you purchase a Strat and wish you hadn't, you didn't do enough searching...there's something for everyone under the Stratocaster umbrella.

Consumeration?
I'm fond of "created" words; is this one of yours, or should someone else get credit?
If you're soft-minded enough to buy something because someone told you to...well, bless your heart, you're gonna have a hard time in life.

As a small kid The Railway Children was the only film that ever made me cry. (Nuts to Bambi and the rest of 'em - pah.) They reissued it a couple of years ago for its 40th anniversary, I went with the Missus to see it in the cinema and she giggled herself silly when at that bit I proceeded to tear up again. My buttons were well and truly pressed, after all this time.

I want to believe that it's manly of me to admit that in public...

Sally Thomsett - ah, yes indeed! 8)

When she was playing a 10 year old in The Railway Children she was in fact about 21 at the time. In her contract it specified that during the six months after the release of the film she was not allowed to drive her MG sports car in public because a photo of it in the newspaper would undermine the movie's publicity campaign. Hee-hee!

...What was this thread about?

Are those American thighs?
An English rose with a gun, nice.
Fine looking pie.
You can just feel the angst over the desire to buy a strat. And it becomes easier to understand how those with access to easy credit or with equity in their homes, now, don’t.
I say just borrow the money for the stat, then all will be well.

Aha ......... Diana Rigg so sweet in that Bond film, her daughters a bit of a sex pot too!

Question for our American friends, why do so many piliticos seem to have odd first names....?

Newt, Mitt, etc, round here they would be a small amphibian and a glove respectively.

Coincidently I'm watching the Avengers on late night TV.

As Mrs Peel drives around the countryside, her skin-tight catsuit changes from red to purple every time she gets out of the car. I guess not many people had colour telly back then.
