Typically in the US, we celebrate St. Patrick's Day with Green Beer, Green clothing, Shamrocks Corned Beef & leprechauns, amongst other things. I was told the other day that Americans have it all wrong. And that there really never were any snake's in Ireland. Will one of you folks from Ireland, please erase the Blarney from the stone, and set me streight. Oh yes and are Leprechauns really out of work Cobblers? 8)

There were never any snakes in Ireland, nor is there any green beer  .
Its a lovely excuse for a nice binge and a wee riot, and here in the north theres also an element of arguing about parades.

Most of all, be sure to stay safe this Saint Patrick's day; Remember its "Paddy" not "Patty".

There is not a more courageous pepol on the planet than the Irish. & Americans Certainly have a rich & deeply ingrained Irish heritage. There are over 36,000,000 of us in this country today. from the beginning Irish men and women have played a huge part in forming America as it is today. 8 brave Irishmen actually signed the "Declaration Of Independence" & 22 American Presidents have been of Irish Blood. If there is one thing the Irish share with Americans, It's the love of Freedom. Save St. Patrick's Day. 8)

We will have our Corn beef, cabbage and potatoes that day of course. After my Pop returned to the U.S. from Frances in WW1 him and one of his brothers went to Ireland and were latter jailed and then deported by the British back to the U.S. That side of my Family were from Ireland. Great Grand Mother crossed over in the 1880's and Married My Great Grand Father who's parents come over in the 1850's
They were relative newcomers too the U.S. since the other side of the Family come too the Americas in 1714 from German States

I am proud of my German Irish Heritage.
