I know a guy who works for Dupont and he got me into the hospitality tent at the Nascar race in Las Vegas this weekend. Sam Bass come to the tent to talk about the new paint scheme for the 20 year anniversary of the Dupont Car. In case you don't know, Sam Bass is the guy who does most of the artwork on the race cars and he also paints trophy guitars for the Nashville race.

Here is the autograph I got


Jeff Gordon made his obligatory appreance, smoozed with the audience and signed some door prizes. I didn't win one. However, I did learn that they put holographic stickers on Jeff Gordon's signature in order to authenticate his autograph. According the Dupont representatives, people were getting his signature then copying on to a bunch of the face shots they have at the race and then selling them on ebay. So now he and a number of the other drivers use these stickers.

Sam doesn't use holographic stickers so I took a picture of him signing my hat.


I'm not sure I condone people making money off of someone else's name but if you buy something with Jeff Gordon's signature make sure it has the holographic sticker.
