Don't get me wrong, I buy used gear, I just don't deal mail order or fleabay. Too much shady stuff going on there. The big word here is gamble. I've bought some great stuff locally on Craigs List and other sources. I just don't buy instruments and amps that I can't see first. Too many people are getting smoked or keep something they don't bond with because of the shipping hassles.
There's no music stores in Phoenix Arizona?

The bottom line is, if I purchase a NEW product, I expect it to arrive in NEW condition. If I then put my own scratches and dents in it, thats my prerogative, but I DONT damage my guitars, I take CARE of them, and they are all in great condition. So those of you that are trying to BLAME ME?? for not accepting a brand new product that cost $1000, arriving damaged, are nothing but BULLIES, stop trying to BLAME THE VICTIM. The customer is always right. I don't pay $1000 for something that's "new" when it isn't new. Its damaged goods, it will be sent back. I'm not someone who is going to sit back quietly and not make waves when a recurrent problem keeps popping up, especially one that is totally avoidable if Fender would just take a little bit more care and provide proper packaging.

This is an attempt to draw attention to the fact that people sending back guitars that are damaged upon arrival is causing Fender and their vendors lose money. So spend an extra couple bucks on the packaging and save yourselves from losing hundreds of dollars. I am trying to HELP you Fender, I haven't asked for free guitars, lifetime supplies of free strings, blah blah blah, I want nothing in return but for you to please re-evaluate your packaging for your guitars. This is the fourth time I have had to send back a Fender guitar because of lousy packaging. Every other brand of guitar I have purchased has always been securely packaged and padded and protected for shipping. Lets face it, UPS and Fedex bash the hell out of their packages. So if a guitar isn't packaged sufficiently the likelihood of it getting damaged is sky-high.

So what would be great is if someone who is able, would care to mention to a Fender official that your packaging could stand a major upgrade. THANK YOU.

You're only a victim if you make yourself a victim, in this case at least. Your guitar has a few dings? Suck it up. Mine was made in 2010, doesn't have the original neck (original was damaged during shipping, I sucked it up, saved $170, and had a new one shipped from the Stratosphere), and has loads of dings from the previous owner and myself, from playing and working on it. The most noticeable one is from a drop from a philip's head when I was installing a new pickguard. Point is, you aren't letting your guitar live the life it could if you're going to constantly worry about it. Only way I can really put it.

Shipping companies aren't the guitar's best friend to start with.

I've been working for DHL for more than 7 years. Handling is rough, but nobody is throwing around parcels. It's just total insane to think a gig bag would be any kind of protection in a flight container.

Cheers

Its not a big music town... we have some stores...but not many... Not a lot of used or vintage gear.. which is what I like to buy (generally).... Believe it or not MUSIC123 has been the best as far as customer service... All returns I have done, they have refunded me not only the full price, but all shipping too... They are good for things where you know what you want... Here is a list of some guitars that I never would have found in Phoenix but I wanted at the time...

Epi Nick Valensi, Vintage LP deluxe, Vintage Guild Starfire, Vintage Guild Acoustic with cutaway, Guild X170, Roland JC77, Duncan Phat Cats, Vintage Fender MIJ Jazz Bass, and on and on...

Don't blame Fender for your woes pal. Have you bothered to consider that your guitars have gotten to you in their conditions because of improper storage conditions from whereever you bought or ordered them from ? No, of course not ! You know what they say about those who assume, right ?

Yeah, because everybody knows Fender Never, Ever, does anything wrong. Their guitars and amps leave the factory in perfect, pristine condition, perfectly set up and polished at all times.

I do agree that if the same dealer sends you trashed equipment every time, it's the dealer.
All I know is my Martin was was shipped in a hardshell case inside a box and arrived in pristine condition and perfectly set up.

If this is a brand new guitar from MF it was never opened from MF and it is Fenders fault. If it was a used guitar from MF which they do sell then its a used guitar and MF would state that and you get what you paid for (A used guitar). From what I understand it was brand new and in a unopened box from Fender. You should get your money back and try somewhere else. I myself have never had a problem with MF and I have bought a few high end guitars from them and they were perfect. I don,t blame the OP for being pissed.
