But, I plugged a pair of headphones directly into my OD pedal. It worked. It was actually decent sounding, considering one of the speakers in my headphones was already dead.

If you plug stereo headphones into a mono input its most likely that you will only get a signal through one side of the phones.You can circumvent that by using a stereo to mono adapter plug and this should give you a signal through both sides.

It was already burnt out. It happened when they were plugged into my computer. Thanks for the tip though.
