After 7 months of waiting the warranty replacement neck for my MIA Strat finally arrived.

I went to my dealer to pick up my Strat. I don't know who did the "set up", the local tec or the Fender Rep but it was a bit of a mess. The bridge was the wrong height and the strings so low that they all buzzed. I was so glad to get my Strat back I did not complain. I figured with a working new neck I could set it up just as well myself.

The new replacement neck is a 2011, the guitar is a 2008. Unfortuntely, gone is the wonderful silky gloss poly finish on the back of my original neck only, to be replaced with the new style satin finish, which to my taste is less preferable. But at least I have a straight and true working neck.

I did not recieve any paperwork from Fender regarding the replacement, nothing to verify it was a Fender authorized repair. Someone led me to believe I should have recieved a record of the maintenace from Fender but I do not know if that is the case.

I don't know why it should take Fender 7 months to send a warranty replacement neck to the dealer after a Fender Rep authorizes the repair?

All in all I am very unhappy with Fender warranty service.

All's well that ends well but IMO there is absolutely no reason why it should have taken seven months. I perceive this as a discouragement tactic. Further, IMO again, I think the store's "tech" merely popped the neck back on the body, restrung it and nothing more. As always, YMMV.

Martian,

By the way my Strat looks just like the one in your Avatar. Olympic White with tortise PG and aged white knobs and PU covers.

Really nice looking and now sounds great too!

I doubt this strongly. And you're a very patient customer.

Cheers

My white plastics are the 'new' white and I also have a tortoise backplate. Either way, I think they make for a real classy combination. Besides, there are not that many Strats out there with these color combos which to me, makes them all the more, unique and personal instruments. :D
