I just recently joined the forum and wanted to say hi to everybody, so...HI! I also wanted to ask for recommendations for tab software. Right now I'm lookin at Tab Pro, Guitar Pro and Songsterr. Whadaya think of those? Or maybe somethin out there that's better? Thanks. I'm a beginner. Again. After 40 years. I'm lookin forward to spending a lot of time here.

Welcome to the Forum Red Raider,in time you'll find the answer to just about anything that you want to know-I even know The Meaning Of Life but it'll cost you-lol.I'm not into tab etc. as I'm totally self taught and by the time tab came along it was too late for me. Anyway we'd love to see your toys as we are all gear freaks and love lusting over each other's gear. You mentioned something about waiting 40 years-something like that anyway, their are a lot of members in the 40+ age group-I'll be 58 in 9 or 10 days and there are a few old codgers even more ancient than I.Stick around and enjoy your stay and Ièm sure that someone will be able to give you the answers you want.

BTW: I know of a good site that gives the chords and chord diagrams to thousands of songs as well as detailed lyrics http://www.chordie.com/ That's a start anyway.Cheers.

Welcome! As far as tab programs go, Guitar Pro is probably the best just because there are so many sites that have compatible files. I used it for a while but found that printing off tabs and making my own books was easier. You don't have to scroll in the middle of a song if its on paper in front of you

Thanks, guys, for the welcomes. Yeah. There sure ARE lots of interesting things here. Lots of knowledge. Its gonna be great! What I meant was I used to play 40+ years ago. This new guitar is my first since back then. So I'm beginning again. As far as lusting after my gear, I kinda doubt that would happen. I recently bought an Epiphone SG and a Fender G-DEC 3 30. That's the extent of my gear...for now. Thanks for the help!

Welcome. I don't know much about tabs, but do read music.

Google is usually a good way to go - type in (for example)
something like - Let It Rain+tab - and you will find.

Good luck!
