Lyrics depend on the sound:
if you are going for a real serious song, think about experiences that have affected you.
if you want to rock, think about something hot or enraging!

I've never been able to write lyrics on demand. Keep a notebook around, I always find myself thinking during random points in the day and something will suddenly pop into my head, I write it down right away and come back to it later.

or you can carry an mp3 player that has voicecapability. Sometimes context is better spoken then written.

Exactly. Any medium where you can get your thoughts down. For me, my thoughts are way out there at times. If I write 'em down I have difficulty coming back and figuring out where I was going with them. But when I record my thoughts then I have the emotion and direction, not just the words.

alright so its like once you come up with the lyrics its easyer to come up with the melody to go with it in your head so when you record it its easyer to get the right melody and rythem? 8)
