Violin Burst Gold Hardware, regular price.

Just wondering, the 50 that are hand-numbered, are those 50 of each of the seven models, or 50 period?

Mine is going to be one I play occasionally...not a collector's piece. I will admit that it likely won't get gigged with the band I'm currently in (original punk band), but it will if I get back into a cover band.

For now, it'll probably only get play time at home and at band practice.

With the one-two punch of the hand-stained next in line, shoot, it could be a screen-saver I'd never get tired of lookin' at

Hi,

I just purchased the Fender Select Telecaster with gold hardware; numbered 66, and have a quick question regarding the tuners.

On all the pics of the Nickel/Chrome configured Telecasters, they are locking tuners. On the one I have, it is configured with gold with peral non-locking tuners. They look alot like the Fender Elite SRV #1 / First Wife Gold / Pearl Tuners.

Of the available pictures of the Select Telecasters with gold hardware, the only one that shows the tuners was #57 where they took their own pictures instead of using standard stock images. It appears that the tuners are the same, but without a rear shot, I could not verify 100% if they were locking or not.

Edit: Since my original post, a unit went up for sale that has the gold hardware and had a shot of the back headstock. They are the same as what I have, and confirms that two other units are equipped with non-locking tuners.

Since the Fender listed specs specify deluxe staggered cast/sealed locking tuners and nickel-chrome or gold hardware, I wanted to confirm that the tuners I have are in fact what was intended and if they are in fact the same as the Fender Elite SRV.

I'm including a few shots of the tuners for reference.

Hmmm. I bought one off of ebay from Streetsounds NYC. The card that came with it says it's one of the first 100 made from the first run but I don't see anywhere what number it is out of the 100. According to the serial numbers, it looks like mine is 10 less than the one that is up for bid now. Mine does not have the gold hardware. I got a very sweet deal on mine. $1500.00. I'll try and post a couple of pics. I've already swapped the pickguard with a white pearloid one.

Interesting your serial # is 10 less than mine, although I have a gold hardware version. Comparing serial #s between units, doesn't appear to be an indication of the unit #. For instance, #57 (tele with gold hardware) had serial # US12025465 -- 329 larger than mine. A select tele that is not one of the first 100 has a serial number that begins with US12024xxx.

The unit # was hand written on the back of the certificate. At least for mine. If the 66 on the back wasn't the unit #, then not sure what it was meant to indicate.

Hopefully you'll find a # on the back of your cert and will know what # unit you got. Great price BTW. :)

The number written on the back of my card is 258. Really strange that it says that on the back yet on the front it says it's one of the first 100.

that's a sweet deal. i got mine $300 off from Sam Ash Direct and I though that was a good deal. yeah the #46 is gold hardware. I don't think they have it anymore. otherwise it would be showing on ebay.

nice flame by the way. mine isn't that clear.

from my understanding (I've confirmed with Fender's customer service) the first 100 is of the model. So there are 7 Fender Select models. therefore there are 300 teles, 300 strats and 100 bases that will come with the certificate.

the hand numbered ones are only 50, period. 50 of the entire series. so i suppose each model has less than 10 hand numbered ones in average.

so yours is probably 258th Fender Select made, not 258th of the model.

yeah i think that's the unit number. it's good that at least you still know the number even if it's not on the headstock.

here's mine.
