Ichecked out a Super Sonic 22, I was beyond impressed. If I had the extra cash, I would have walked out with it.

Keep the Super Champ XD. Bye a tilt back amp stand, a mic cable and a Sennheiser e609 mic. Total investment - about $160.

Put the amp on the tilt back stand and face it toward you. You'll hear yourself just fine regardless of venue.

Run the mic cable through the handle of the amp and just hang the e609 in front of the speaker. It will be fine, it's designed for close proximity miking.

Trust the sound man to get the house mix right.

Other advantages - less stage noise, the total monitor mix can be lowered, everyone else can hear themselves better, it's easier to get a good house mix, and a lighter load to haul around.

I started doing this two or three years ago and I'll never go back to a high powered amp blasting directly out.
