What's with the new mustang's? Have they put enough upgrades in them to just they hype, on what was originally a low cost student guitar. Where are they being made?

Welcome.

It's just hype. In the final analysis, they still are what they always were.

As always, this is merely IMO where YMMV.

To which new mustang are you referring? A few new models have come out recently.

The new Pawn Shop one can be had fairly inexpensively and plays great.
I don't have one, but I was looking for another solidbody--I would have to consider it.

I have both a Fender and Squier Musicmaster bass, and the Squier is actually built better and plays every bit as well if not better then the Fender.

I would assume that since both new Fender and Squier Mustangs have been released that you may find it to be the same for some guitars. Just my experience again, because lots of people won't touch a Squier.

I was just looking at the new Fender Mike something Mustang, cool but only available in Silver Flake? Not my color at all.
