Well, the godawful, possibly vintage, corroded, Epiphone, neck pickup in my Telecaster died just now. I'm not sure what caused it, but I was playing on gain (as usual) and it just cut out completely.

Well, if anyone wants it, you can have it when I install a new pickup. I'm not sure exactly what it's from, but the original owner said an SG, the original owner also didn't know what they were doing with installation, so I wouldn't trust their word.

As for the new pickup, I'm putting a wide range. I'll save up for it on the side, maybe save my lunch money for a few weeks.

Back to the good ol' bridge for now.

Are you sure it is the pickup itself ? Can you have a meter to check how many ohms the coil have ?
It could be the solder on pickup, the wire between the pu to the switch . You need more test before replacing pu

It's not the solder or switch, considering the switch doesn't give problems on the bridge setting, and the bridge pickup still works. I don't have a meter either. Plus, putting a wide range in the neck was one of my plans for an upgrade anyways.

Switch may have a problem only on neck position ( contact or solder ) and working on bridge position.

You may want to replace the pickup but better to know before if you have to ordered a new witch.

Try to solder a jumper wire to by pass switch. You'll be sure switch is ok.
