So last night I discovered the G string on one of mu guitars was slipping out of tune on bends, now today in a different guitar the intonation is way out and it was fine yesterday.

Coincidence, bad luck, or could something be wrong with the "guitar room"?

Yeah, I hate it when my g-string slips, too...it gets so uncomfortable and...

Oh wait! You're talking about your guitar?

Never mind!

(I'm sorry, someone was going to say it and I wanted to be the first!) :P

PS +1 on the temperature change theory.

Wow! How did I not notice that G string thing when I posted it.

My only thought is the temperature hasn't really changed much in the last little while so it seems a lil odd.

Are they new strings?

You might try to replace your strings, if this is a new phenomenon...

While changing strings, check out your tuning keys; make sure it hasn't gotten loose.

Other than that, I got nothin'...

Could it be a humidity change? I live in North Dakota and have noticed that my humidifier has been using water at a much higher rate this last week than it has for most of this winter.

If you don't already have a temp/humidity meter you might want to invest in one.

I have this http://www.amazon.com/ReptiPro-Incubato ... B0050I4K1M. It keeps track of the high and low as well as the current levels.

Nut, bridge, actually anywhere the strings contact could need a lubrication touchup. Can't hurt, that's for sure.

This is what I was gonna suggest. Also the string tree if the G goes thru it.

I've gotten the intonation on the Strat back in playing shape, but the L.P. still need some work...that infamous G-string is still the problem.

The odd thing is I just set it up about 2 weeks ago and put brand new strings on it at that time, including some lube, that's why it seems so odd.

A buddy of mine bought a new Les Paul a couple of years ago and it has been plagued with tuning problems since day one, this isn't really uncommon with LPs.The nuts of LPs are notoriously bad.

Well I have had this for some time and never had any tuning issues.

Oh well that changes things altogether, the only thing that I can come up with is either the tuning key rack and pinion aren't engaging as they should be and need adjustment or it may be possible that you have a faulty string and if it was both G strings, they may have both come from the same bad wire.
