WHAT IS THIS SORCERY?!? revolving pencils? shrinking paint? My lawd, I think my brain can't take it!   8)

Very nice episode Ceri - though somehow we prefer standalone-threads in the build-genre, makes it easier to add to the infamous build thread listing... hmm maybe we should make a new selection of life-hacks by the Forum Greats - little nuggets of tech wisdom for the hoe brew gang! (All I could add to that would be how I re-wired the squirty bits on the back of my car... but hey! I'll make you all popcorn!)

Way 2 geaux, Ceri. Nice work as always!

Cheers all -

Nutter

John, I'm hoping to get it painted white so that it looks similar to this: Image
if it's even close I'll be happy. I'll put up the before pic's tomorrow if the sun shows itself.

Hee-hee! :D

Ever since Twelvebar did his animated .gif Forum logo for his sig line I've been meaning to find out how to do that and have a go. Just the other week I finally bullied Mr Nutter into showing me how it works - and there ya go!

(When earlier Nutter says "what sorcery is this?" he's being coy - cos he's the one who taught me.)

Gotta tell you, after 16 frames of Morph animation I think I'm done with it. I'll be leaving the Plasticine to Peter Lord and Nick Park from now on.

Cheers - C

What? Me? NEVER. 8)

Although I am quite pleased and honoured to have been able to help Ceri-San achieve the leap into an animated state. For those who want to know, Ceri not only hand-carves violins from scratch, he also hand-carves his animations. In this last case quite literally, as we have seen. But also in a more figurative sense: Ceri's computing device is steam-driven, and asks for quite a lot of coal-shovelling until it does what it is told. So for anyone surmising his artful imagery is done easy-peasy is highly mistaken: it takes a real man like CERI to do what he does. Make no mistake- this is a PC at which Chuck Norris would falter.

All the more respect towards Mr C!

Good stuff guys-

Nutter

Ok, got my hands on a digital camera, a Mustek something 50 so gonna try again tomorrow.

Photography, I hope these are viewable, when I removed the pick-guard the yellow color is much brighter so it was age and wear that made the rest of the body the more dingy yellow color. Hopefully the nicks and scratches are visible, zooming in should be possible as the camera I used has a lot of pixels I think. Sorry again for unprofessional photos, Bros if I should take more let me know.ImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageThe pic of the hat is cause I just got it at GC and forgot I should have ordered it from the Fender store, lol. I'm still a little nervous about stripping the paint but determined to get this done.

The new neck is here, now just waiting on miscellaneous stuff, string tree, strap buttons and felts, pick guard and screws, bridge saddles, volume and tone knobs. The waiting is the hardest part:

after another day of fussing over the bass guitar project, and then viewing Ceri's video greeting to John again, I decided to retire to one of the local fountains of youth for an elixir to restore my body and mind to a younger state of wellness, from this photo said elixir seems to have had an opposite effect and my Bro in the photo obviously found my resulting surprise humorous, lol:Image
