I collected safety razors last year and got 30 of 'em now :D, really nice collection. My oldest ones are a 1912 GEM Damaskeene and 1921 Gillette Single Ring. I don't really go out and buy stuff much anymore. I'll go to thrift stores and look at their VHS tapes when I pass buy, scored one a few weeks ago for $1 that's been OOP since 1985, never released on DVD and worth at the minimum $50 :). I also like looking for old Hawaiian shirts 'cause I read this book from the library: Image

Other than music gear I tend to collect

Movies and tv-series:
Collection has over 600 DVD's and maybe 75 Blu-Rays now.

The CD shelves have grown to around 500 disks

My vinyl collection had 300 LP's before a relative fell asleep with a cigarette and the resulting couch fire melted the lot.

And I tend to acquire too much camera and studio gear, but that is mainly work related.

Oh I also seem to collect losing lottery tickets, though that is not by plan.

When compact discs first hit the streets in the early 80s, a friend and I went all over the place collecting all of our favorite songs on CD. By the time we were finished, we had every Billboard Top 40 song from 1955 to 1985 in our collection. This is the set of shelves that holds most of the Top 40 collection.

In addition to all of Billboard's Top 40 songs on CD, I have also acquired a very extension collection of rockabilly, surf and blues on CD. They reside in this smaller set of shelves.

When I lived in Connecticut in the 70s, I started collecting old fruit jars... and I mean OLD, like these:

I have pretty much stopped jar collecting as of 4-5 years ago when the collection hit about 500 jars. As far as CD collecting goes, I still buy one now and then, but mostly blues stuff.

I spend most of my disposable income these days on guitars and amps.

Vinyl records (currently over 2,000 and growing)
movies - a few thousand DVDS, 300 laserdiscs

I have a few nice katana swords but would not consider them a collection. just a few well made swords for iaido and cutting.

My parents have a collection of about 350 albums on vinyl. Since reviving their old turntable and hunting at local used book and music stores I've probably added 20-30 to that.

I know this is going to sound strange...

I collect blank golf score cards from all sorts of golf courses. If I played golf at a certain place, or a friend played somewhere, or a relative in another state played golf somewhere, I ask if they could get me a score card.

One of these days, I'll get good enough to qualify for the Champions Tour (Senior PGA). 8)

Hey Butch!

I used to be an avid golfer - 160+ rounds a year - and that was in northern Minnesota! I also played golf courses all over the place, anywhere I went I'd find the local courses and try them out. I used to have a pile of blank score cards in a three-ring binder, but I think I just threw all of that stuff out last fall. Wish I'd known about you, I'd have sent them to you.

Sorry. I'll look around and see what might still be here. Dang.

I've still got all the vinyl LPs I bought back in my younger days (in the 60s and 70s), probably a good 600 or so, many of them quite collectible. I also still have the Dual turntable I bought when I was in Vietnam and it still works like a charm. Recently I bought a USB turntable and spent several weeks converting old vinyl to new CDs on my computer - fun to do, but it can only be done in real time, so you have to be in it for the long haul. But you get to listen to everything you're burning.

When it comes to music, I'm a fanatic in every way... and always have been!
