Feeling a bit philosophical tonight, contemplating what it would be like to be able to change the past to what I know would be a better today.

I've determined that if there was one thing I could do one thing over,

It would be to have Red Mock Crocodile Levy's straps on all my basses and guitar. I have Levy's on all of them now but, there's a certain something about the Red Mock Crocodile!

It's gaudy and loud but I like it!

Yeah, initially I thought about a plan to prevent World War II, but upon reading your post, the red crocodile strap is better for all of us... :P

Right!

You sometimes hear people say they wouldn't change a thing about their lives.

C'mon! I'd do plenty more of the good bits and a helluvalot less of the bad bits.

So where's that time maching got to...?

Cheers - C

And here I was, foolishly contemplating if mankind never strayed from the original Plan of universal peace, love and harmony. What ever was I thinking?

Of course my post was only a lark, even as I was writing, a hundred thoughts crossed my mind. Oh the possibilities of change

Makes me think of the "Butterfly Effect".

I've always said, "The what ifs will kill you."

The stuff that I've done and wouldn't do again I only know not to do again because I've done it :D

If you mean what you would've done gear wise.I would have taken out a loan back in 1976 to buy a factory done White "Elephant Hide" 1968 Marshall 1959 plexi with bright blue grill cloth and a reverse body 1964 Gibson Firebird VII with Vibrola for just $1,200 for the whole set-up.

I think if I could change something in my life, I would have definitely held that fart in 15 minutes ago......or not eaten the egg sandwich. Either one would have kept my wife happy.

In musical terms, I would have kept all my old gear
Watkins westminster 10 watt tube amp
Watkins dominator 17.5 watt tube amp
Vox tone bender fuzz pedal
Selmer treble and bass 50 head and selmer 2x12 "" cab
1964(ish) blonde Fender Bassman top and homemade 4x12" cab with 4 matched goodmans audium 61 bass speakers
Rosetti airstream 2
Homemade fender esquire copy with 12" radius fingerboard
1964 Daphne blue Fender stratocaster ( "D" neck Abbey pickups rosewood board )

Could have also picked up an immaculate (and I mean this guitar was cased immediateley after being played every time, so no marks or scuffs whatsoever, anywhwere) 1960 blonde Esquire with white scratchplate, maple neck in 1967 for £40!!!

tell my dad not to get rid of the 50's Black Les Paul, multiple Fender tweed amps and the Vintage Fender Bass that sat in my closet for years, etc, etc.

Go back to 1954 and buy one of those new fangled Fender Stratocaster thingies. Then put it under my bed for me to find now.

Go back to 1959 and buy one of those badly selling Gibson Les Pauls etc etc.

Go back to 1980 and make a different choice about my first love.. :(

If I could change things in the past, would I be where I am today? That is the question that plagues us all. Would I be better off today or would I be in a worse position? With all my good and bad decisions I have made I am happy where I am today, generally.
