I just came from the FB site of Vanessa Paradis, she's not too well known outside of Canada and especially Quebec and France and other parts of Europe where she's a major star.Vanessa is Johnny Depp's "significant other" as a short biography said(what a lucky stiff) and is not only absolutely, stunningly, drop dead gorgeous but has the voice of an angel.I just ordered her self titled English album-most of them are mostly French with some English-but nowhere could I find her catchy tongue in cheek song"Farewell mon cowboy".I would imagine that my forum and FB friend Claude has heard of her and most like is a fan aussi.Has anyone else from south of the border or across the pond heard of this beautiful and amazing talent? She is well worth checking out if you like angelic voices.

The latest gossip in the papers here (or web news as it is nowadays) reckon her and JD are having marital issues so she may be available for ya soon mate

As far as tunes go i think she came out with a little ditty called "Joe le taxi" years ago.

Others may remember better than me though!

Thanks for the info Al,there will be a bouquet of red roses making it's way to her tomorrow morning lol.In the meantime,I think that "Farewell mon Cowboy" may have been done by another French Canadian songstress.I looked through Vanessa's discography and couldn't find it anywhere.

Ahh Vanessa, such a great voice. Here's her first huge success.

As for the "Bye bye mon cowbow", I don't know if Vanessa covered it, but it was an original from Mitsou, a female singer from Montreal. I think Mitsou used her early succes to start a business career.

I searched vanessa's discography on wiki only to find that there is no cover of that song from her. But you're right Derek, Vanessa has a great voice.

Thanks Claude, you were right on the money with Mitsou singing it.Another singer from Quebec who I really liked was Michel Pagliaro,I really loved "Some Sing Some Dance","Lovin' You Ain't So Easy","Ring,Ring,Ring" and "Miss Anne".I looked up his phone number when I was in Montreal several years but I chickened out from phoning him.

Yup Pagliaro, the rocker. He had an on and off kind of career. Spent many years in France, producing Jacques Higelin. He's still the original rocker though, the man, Pag.
