So, tell the forum, guys! When you play a gig, how do you dress? Casually or do you add something more extravagant?

I usually play blues and classic rock, so I dress somewhat like this..

or...

Usually, I also wear this kind of hat:

How about you?

I usually wear just casual pants but always wear a shirt that sets me apart from the audience/patrons.I have a fair sized collection of Hawaiian shirts and several Fender shirts, one of the shirts is supposed to be a road crew shirt but when you look closely it is on the humourous side with "Musician looking for groupies" printed over one pocket and a few Fender logos printed on it,the other is a dress shirt with the stylized print of a Strat on it. The rest are Fender T-shirts of various vintages.

I don't gig, but I've always been comfortable in a T-shirt & jeans.

But when I have played in front of people, I've been dressed that way and right up to a three piece suit.

My most out there look was platform boots, jeans, bright T-Shirt, yellow sunglasses, and a hat that looked like a policeman's--but it wasn't.
So nowhere near Elton John.

I like gigging in the winter best, because I get to wear my leather jacket. Well, actually it's probably made of vinyl, but it looks enough like leather that you'd never be able to tell. And it's black, which makes you automatically cool. 8)

slacks, shirt, waistcoat, brogues, fob watch (optional depending on how big a gig) and tie. Matching suit jacket if its an outdoor gig. I am english after all. Spent years playing in a heavy stoner rock 3 piece with plaid shirts, long hair etc. so im still quite enjoying playing in such smart clothes!

It all depends on the gig, bars and jam nights usually casual, blue jeans, black jeans with matching denim shirt in the winter, t-shirt or Hawaiian in summer. Weddings or concert type engagements I usually go more formal ( except for no tie's, never have never will).

As church bassist, weekly, it's usually black polo and black trousers. Comfortable decdnt leather shoes for 2 hours of standing. Short sleeves for standing under a light which could serve as a warming oven. And only a few feet from the heat vents....

Jeans or shorts depending on the season.

For shirts I have a number of different jerseys, football ones, baseball styled, hard rock cafe, other things like that are pretty common for me. Like bright colors when possible.
