Since when did people start singing and playing guitar at the same time?

I can sing La Grange and I can sing Long Cool Woman... and most everything in between if I feel like it. :D

I've been singing since about 1964-5 - when the band stopped doing nothing but surf instrumentals!

Singing and playing the guitar? You gotta be kidding.

Cheers - C

LOL... Here you go Ceri. This is straight off You Tube. I just made this video about a half hour ago, sitting on my couch with my '95 Fender Strat.

http://youtu.be/DytEAhFBHFc

The only difference in this video is, I decided to shave off my mustache after 30 years! Good God do I look weird!

Ha - marvellous! That was heaps of fun: respect to you, Butch! And great to meet the man behind the typing, too. :D

So. I was do-ray-me'ing along with you. I can go about as low as you and nearly an octave higher. But good Lord, you do not want to hear it! It ain't pretty! Up at the top there I'm getting that red face and neck veins you mentioned. Haha!

BTW: you certainly have a rock and roll voice. Not a Robert Plant type rock and roll voice to be sure, but that's hardly the only option out there. If you want to call it a Johnny Cash voice that's fine be me - and no bad thing, after all!

Oh, and you look absolutely good without a moustache. Though of course we've never seen you with one, so...

Cheers to you, man - C

Thanks... Here's an earlier clip on You Tube of me (with mustache and goatee) playing along to Pink Floyd's "Comfortably Numb". Note: I am not singing in parts of this, I am just lip-syncing along with David Gilmour's vocals.

I goof up a few times during the solos, but then, nobody's perfect... I have my Fender Frontman 65r set up nice, so it sounds pretty good for a solid state amp.

I guess I still have my McCartney range. And I started singing & playing at the same time since the sixties. Tho I don't play much bass anymore. Doing more rhytym & lead playing in church. I sing some high harmony stuff, but not in falsetto.
