I didn't realize I was addicted to this forum until earlier today I tried to log on, and due to server issues, I was unable to check out the forum, and so I kept checking back every couple of minutes like a damn Fender Fiend...

I'm addicted to playing my Fender Highway One Strat, and I'm jonesing because it's in the shop getting new Custom Shop Fat 50s pickups. I cannibalized my old Squier for parts for the Highway One and so that's out of commission. My old acoustic I gave to charity. For the first time in about 9 years I've got no guitar at all.

I noticed I was addicted when I promised not to post anything for a day, that was a month ago. Oh Well.

Musicians do tend to have addictive personalities.

OUCH!!!

I had my daughter's Squier Strat sitting in the living room beside the TV on a stand, I lasted about an 45 minutes before I had to get up and play it! I've been through severe withdrawal on vacation w/o one for a week! I feel for ya, man!

That's like me, except if I'm not around a guitar, I don't feel the need for playing one. But if there's one close by, I gotta at least give it a workout for minute or two.

I use to take my guitar on vacations with me, but I don't anymore. I usually have other things I plan on doing so I really don't have the time. Now I think of vacations as getting away from everything, including guitar playing. I find that when I come back to it after about a week I'm refreshed and sorta have a different feel with it.

Guitar playing will drive ya crazy if ya ain't careful. It works out your mind to a point of insanity.

Oh yeah, many times during my long years of guitar playing while going completely unnoticed, I've had to take a break from playing. Sometimes it's just what the doctor ordered when you hit that wall we all hit from time to time. Clears the head, makes you a bit more open again.

I know what your'e talking about. I was hung up on this one part trying to learn "The Sky Is Crying". Took a break for about a week, and came back refreshed and completed the whole song.
