I saw The Jimi Hendrix Experience once, on a Saturday, September 14, 1968 at the Hollywood Bowl in the Hollywood area of Los Angeles, California:Image

I hadn't been able to find a recording of the concert until yesterday when I found this on youtube:
edit
here is a short video, without audio content, of the actual event:
edit
and lastly an interview from September 7, 1968 so that you can get a sense of how the band communicated their thoughts, 3 very cool cats:

Some of our Forum members have posted videos of live concerts they've been to and I was wondering if any of the members that saw The Jimi Hendrix Experience live have found those live shows on youtube as I did?

I was given a bootleg cassette of that concert over 30 years ago,the sound quality was terrible but the playing was brilliant-of course.I never fail to get mountainous goosebumps whenever I hear " Are You Experienced" and"Voodoo Child(slight return)" no matter how many times I hear them or how many different versions.I also have a bootleg cassette of Jimi's Ottawa,ON,Canada performance, the one he was busted coming from am L.A. Forum.

Hendrix live was something else all by himself. Add in Noel Redding and Mitch Mitchell and that was some major mojo going on. Nothing like it since.

I just missed seeing Jimi in Cincy in March of '68 because I was grounded by my mom & dad for skipping school. My hippie cousin had moved from Port Arthur TX (she knew Janis Joplin) to CA, and here to Dayton where her aunt had moved after leaving Texas.

She would write 'sick' notes for me, I was skipping school. I was a senior, just 17yrs, but already had all my credits to graduate. She did take me to meet Janis in Cleveland, but that's another story.

I know Seymour Duncan and he told about winding a set of pickups and installing them in one of Jimi's guitar at the Cincy show.

still looking for the New Year 1969 Band of Gypsys full concert video:

There really isn't that much, most of the footage on the BOG DVD is all there is, Blom had 53mins of footage of the 1st show, and Vasuka shot 29mins of footage of the second show on videotape.

The 16mm color footage was shot by Amalie Rothschild, she was there to shoot only pictures but ended up shooting short segments of the concert due to the fact that she only had one roll of film.

Chet, cool that you have a CD of the concert, I watched most of it through binoculars because we were sitting almost at the top of the hill facing the stage, lol.
Guitslinger mentioned that he had a bootleg of it and when I thought about it I did meet a lot of girls and boys from Canada in L.A. that summer.
Tony, you met Seymour Duncan, rock music royalty for sure, very cool that you met Janis I always admired her talent and openness, she had a heart as big as the state of Texas.
I was afraid that there wasn't much of a public record of those New Years concerts Tony. The videos that I have seen on youtube are great though.

I know somebody who had seen Jimi at Woodstock. He was one of my teachers last year, and I must say, the coolest teacher by far. He was the wittiest person I've ever met. But anyways, he acted out every motion he remembered him doing for me, which was pretty cool imo. He said he was as close to the stage as he could be and that me was deaf for a few days after.

This is by far his best performance ever. The quality is superb, the energy is high, and when he plays with his teeth, it's perfect for topping it off. This was the video that made me try playing with my teeth. Even the little "burp" noise the guitar does right after he's done playing with his teeth is perfect.
