Anyone have experience with one? I know someone who is trying to sell one and is letting me test it out.

I've only been able to play it for about 30 minutes so I really can't make full comment but why is this 3 watt amp $1200?? It does produce some really nice cleans and really wakes up when I push it with my tubescreamer but no reverb, trem, or low/mid/high controls.

The size is perfect for my playstyle since I don't gig, I just play in my condo. Initially I was looking at a DRRI, but was a little worried that it would be too loud in a condo setting. I could also go the Blues Jr. route for half the price.

I guess what I'm asking is, is this amp really worth its price? I don't have a lot of experience with tube amps (like I said I'm just a leisurely player). I'll have time to fiddle with it a lot more this weekend but thought I'd reach out to the Fender community to see if some of the more experienced players have any thoughts.

Value is rather subjective. Personally, $1,200 for a 3watt amp? No thanks, for that kind of cash you could get a used DRRI and possibly a small vox.

Is the DRRI too loud for your condo? Probably, but doesn't mean you can't play it at lower volumes and is more versitle.

I don't play out either but there's nothing to say I won't in the future.

this model is a better choice IMHO, there is a volume knob to enable you to practice at low volume:

Yeah that's it in the top photo. Honestly the only reason I'm looking at Carr is because I know someone trying to sell it (he bought a higher end model) so it's either the Raleigh or something else.

I get they're high quality, hand wired and David Carr is well respected but like the second poster said, I'm having a hard time getting over the price for a 3 watt amp. I was just wondering if someone out there knew something that I didn't that might sway my opinion. Obviously it's up to the individual but I like to get others input.

I think the guy is asking around $900. I'm thinking of offering around $600 which he'll probably reject but no biggie, then I just go out and get a new DRRI. Was just wondering if anyone out there has played one of these.
