The one surprise that I see is Steve Lukather (Toto).

Looking forward to this year's show. Past 3 years have been very good performances.

I always liked Ringo's music a lot. It's virtually all 'feel good', toe tapping stuff. Its no wonder he can gather the talent he always does.

I've seen Ringo twice, it's always a good show. His band is always excellent. Ringo himself can be a bit loose with his vocals and remembering the lyrics, but loose is kind of his vibe.

Heard about this a couple of days ago and caught my attention, they open near me. I think you just talked me into it.

Everyone speaks with some kind of dialect / accent. As I was listening to (Ringo) I couldn't pick it out whether his was British or just what. You guys from the U.K. what do you think is it a mix of U.S & U.K or what? :? 8)

all 4 Beatles where like that.spoke like they where from the UK,but sang like Americans.

Most all singers sound American when singing American Songs, but they speak in there normal dialect when talking. Ringo's talking sounded like a mix of some kind. 8)

I hope I am not offending anyone when I say this, but Ringo's playing is musically boring. I am not saying he is a BAD drummer, I just think a Hi hat snare combo for the ENTIRE song, with one tom run is really boring, and not all that challenging. I know drummers who use lots of techniques, most obviously jazz drummers to make wonderful drum beats, I just feel Ringo is not playing the most what he could be

I have to agree with wferguson.
The concert will likely be pretty good because of all the other talent, but a few years ago when I saw the concert on TV, I had to wince when Ringo walked to the front of the stage & started singing. It was sad to watch.
He got lucky when he got the Beatle gig.
Lennon said in the early sixties in London it was hard to get a decent drummer - most of them were idiots.
Drums were expensive. If you had a kit, you had a gig.

and no,Ringo can't sing.and he knows it.but you can't blame him for trying.

Exactly, I shudder to think what the Beatles would have sounded like with Keith Moon or Ginger Baker. Ringo's an entertainer, plain and simple.

Ringo was the right drummer for the band; if they had a Ginger Baker or a Keith Moon, it wouldn't have allowed those amazing tunes, melodies and lyrics shine forth the way they did: he propelled the group forward and provided a steady foundation for all the grandiose structures that we know and love.

Ringo fits into that strange category of "good" bad singers. :?

The drummer in my band is the same way; he doesn't have a technically "good" voice, but he chooses the proper material for his voice and it sounds "just right" every time. In fact, when I sing the songs he normally sings, it just doesn't sound right (but I'm rarely satisfied with the sound of my own voice on anything)...

Others in this category:
Neil Young
Bob Dylan
Ronnie Wood
Keith Richards
Mark Knopfler
Dan Baird
...and many more I can't think of right now.

I'd add Roger Waters to that list.
