OOPS,I didn't pick up on that, thanks for setting me straight on it,my bad. That changes the complexion of things then. The thing is that my buddy whose store I go to exclusively is the agent for Tech21 NYC in the province and could bring one in for me just above his cost, that's very tempting.

Thanks for the tip BMW-KTM I will certainly check it out.The Roto Choir has a MSRP of about $279 I believe but most places are selling it for around $220.

Edit: I just gave the Stryman unit a listen and it sounds much like the one on my Vox AD120 which isn't a bad thing. The only thing that wasn't Leslie like with it was that you couldn't have the bottom horn and top rotors moving indepent of each other, both were at the same speed at all times. With the Roto Choir as with a real Leslie you could have the drum rotating slowly while the rotors were rotating fast and vice versa which gave you the dreamy "Chorus" setting. I can honestly say though is that the sound is very very much like a real Leslie and it would certainly save my back from lugging around my old artifact.

Could be done with two stryman's ( and two amps), it has two outs, a bass and treble, set the first to slow speed with bass to one amp, the treble goes to the second at the faster speed and to a second amp. (Didn't say it was easy, maybe just a little easier than carrying a real leslie.)

Sounds like you already have something set in motion. Just thought I'd point it out before you pull the trigger. Hope you like it. :)

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

I still haven't made up my mind for sure to get anything.I have the money to get either one of them but it would put a big dent into my Rickenbacker fund.I really appreciate your input anyway as it certainly widened my options and since I routinely use 3 amps when gigging it would be doable for sure. They are both no doubt quite good products.BTW the Roto Choir was recently nominated for the TEC award for Technical Excellence and Creativity in the catagory of outstanding technical achievement,Musical Instrument Amplification& effects technology.Decisions decisions what a quandry. In the meantime I'll be using the Leslie and Uni-Vibe settings on my Vox AD120,they are quite authentic too.

I'm so old I remember when P.O.G. meant "passion-fruit orange guava" which was a beverage that often used collectible caps as a promotional tool. You could use POG caps to play a game called "POG" or sometimes they had professional athletes photos printed on the caps which made them more collectible. Wow that was a long time ago. Youth then was much more easily entertained than today. The caps themselves were similar to old pre-1970 milk bottle caps and were never used in POG's actual packaging, but were more of a promotional item. There were hard to come by in the midwest and east, being more common in Hawaii and the west coast.

I'm with you SK. Maybe a bit of tremolo from time to time too.

When playing alone in the house,I usually use just the tremolo and reverb but when you are out gigging effects are a must if you want to do authentic covers. How could anyone do the intro of Voodoo Child(slight return) without a wah wah pedal? For that song it's also handy to have a fuzz, delay pedal and a panning device,Leslie, phase shifter or flanger to approximate the panning at the end of the song. When I was out playing covers I always had at least 6 pedals so I could cover all bases when playing any song to make it sound as faithful as possible to the original.
