Got a Dobro for my b-day last week (as some of you know) and I'm having trouble getting a good signal from the built-in pickup. I found out it's a "Fishman™ resonator pickup".
Wondering if a unit like this:
http://www.musiciansfriend.com/guitars/ ... 2000000000
will work.
I've tried a number of things, OD, compressor, direct into the amp, but the signal is still very weak.
I don't want to spend money and find out I could have used something different.
Any ideas?

fyi... here's the link for the guitar... thanks.

I had/have similar problems with my Dean Chrome G electric/acoustic resonator...I have not tried the EH Power Booster, but my (similar effect) MXR Micro Amp pedal turned the Dean into a screaming, howling mess of feedback.

I also tried the Fishman Aura pedal; didn't work as advertised, at least not for me (especially not $300 worth of sound)...my cousin, who uses resos, acoustics and archtop hollowbodies exclusively was very disappointed in the Aura Spectrum as well...but it might work for you, give it a shot.

Thus far, the best thing I have found is an MXR 10-band equalizer. I balance the volume and gain boost sliders to get more volume, but tweak all the other sliders to tweeze out the offending (feedback-ing) frequencies that create the howl.

I've already decided to upgrade the cone and the pickup on the cone, but I'm still on the warpath to find a better way to amplify this machine.

If the Nano or anything else works for you, please post it here or PM me...I'd like to know, because I'm trying to get an even better sound out of the Reso, if it's possible.

maybe i'll just stick the ol' 57 in front of it and call it a wrap.
had my old friend larry over last night, and had the pleasure of sitting in front of it while he played it.... sounded exactly like it should.
