I'm going to say that Sponge is a very unrecognized band. They're very good, and almost every one of their songs paints a vivid emotional picture.

Keith Richard's short guitar solo in "Gimme Shelter". The guitar playing in the intro is what most people think of when it comes to this song, but that solo gets me every time. It's not technically the most amazing guitar solo, but the notes and the bends and everything... It's just perfect. The solo is as amazing and emotional as the rest of that song.

Dare I say.... "Sunglasses at Night" by Corey Hart. I always thought the guitar work on that ripped it up. I did a little research and found out that it was a dude named Andy Barnett who actually was a member of Urchin with Adrian Smith before he (Smith) joined Iron Maiden. In 1985 he played on a side project with Adrian Smith and Nicko McBrain called "The Entire Population of Hackney". Thought that was pretty cool.
