I just read that on the Globe and Mail website, the cause of death and where she died weren't released. She was another huge talent who like Amy Winehouse and dozens more had an on again off again problem with substance abuse but sadly she was mostly on them. She was 48,much too young to die but if it was drug related, drugs don't discriminate about age,no matter how old or young you are,if you mess with them too much they will eventually take without regard of your age.Like it was with Amy,her death comes as a shock but not a complete surprise.I had seen interviews that she did where she was almost incoherent. You wonder if anyone in her circle of friends and family could've done anything to prevent this if it was after drug related.

That's too bad. She did (before the drugs) have a great voice. Not my style, but she is the voice everyone for the past X amount of years trys to imitate.

She is example number 462,345,789 of why I'm so anti-drug...

Great singer, good actress, beautiful woman...and dead before her time.

RIP, Miss Houston.

I remember her redition of the National Anthem in '91 when the Giants beat the Bills.

RIP Ms. Houston,

Wow, I was thinking of Whitney Houston last week on Superbowl Sunday, during the national anthem. In my opinion, her rendition is the best I've ever heard in my life.

I agree with Jeffo,Bobby Brown was poison. He had the King Midas touch in Reverse if I may quote an old Hollies' song-everything he touched was ruined.

Matt pretty much summed it up. Beautiful woman, beautiful voice, too young for this.

I hope you've found some relief for your tortured soul. Rest in peace, Whitney.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.
