When I got to the store I literally went nuts, and couldn't make up my mind.
This is the beauty I fell in love with. When I walked into the room, another guy was playing her, so I listened closely like Chet said to do. I carefully listened to every note. The guy was really putting her through her paces. I was impressed by him and the guitar. After about 10 minutes or so he put it away, saying that he wanted to buy it. After he was gone I went straight for it and gave it my best. Wow :!: is the only word to describe how I felt. After playing it for a while the salesman came back and said, well, what do you think. I told him if he would knock off $100.00 I'd take it. His boss went for it, now it belongs to me. It's a Gibson, Les Paul American Traditional Gold Top. Including sales tax it came to just over $2,200.00. About $500.00 more than I planed on spending, but thats OK. Its just what I wanted. I've been playing it for about 3 hrs. streight and I'm worn out. :D :D 8)
----Danny,

Happy New Guitar Day--she's a beauty!

The goldtops always look so funky and cool at the same time...

What's the neck profile--50's or 60's?

A "black gold" top? That would get oil all over your clothes! :P

You know, they say don't go into a food store hungry. Beautiful guitar, and I'm sure you'll agree that it's nice to have both a Strat and LP to play with. Give us some more details. What pickups and which neck profile does it have?

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.
