Made in China I guess you will be able to buy them at Walmart.

You are actually a marketing genius. If they sold these in Walmart and Target, and they cut the First Act $@!&, Fender would make mils.

I have a Marauder. It's a very nice guitar. It feels higher in quality than a $2000 Les Paul that I played. I also played a MP thinline Tele that was really nice.

I'm not so sure about that one. Some of the stuff coming out of China is pretty nice, but the materials and components aren't really up there with the big boys. I have an Ibanez AS73 that's out of China and although the build quality is outstanding, the pickups, pots, switch and jack leave a lot to be desired. Comparing my AS73 to a Gibson 345 is kind of laughable. I have a Gibson Studio 60's Tribute with P-90's that's seriously nice for $850, still not as nice as say an LP Stardard. I've never found any $400 guitar that compares to any higher end model guitar, Gibson included. It's apples and oranges.

The knobs wobbled on the Gibson. No such problem on the Fender. And the fit and finish on the Marauder is every bit as good. The Gibson didn't even play that well. I guess I'm a Fender guy.

You very well might be. Don't get me wrong, I love cheap guitars. I still have a 57 Dano U1.
I'm an everything with strings on it guy. I've tried Fenders that had sharp fret ends, lifting frets, bad pickup selector switches, bad setups and dirt in the finish. That includes MIA, MIM and MIC. My 72 Strat is a CBS which got a bad reputation, but I'll tell you what, it's a way better guitar than some of the stuff I'm seeing now. I've seen bad in almost everything. But comparing any of my cheaper guitars to my higher end guitars just doesn't flush. My new Martin Performing Artist Series was flawless from the construction to the setup to the finish. Setups are a personal thing.

Sure, it depends on the company and how it specs the amps components and how greedy and profit hungry they are. Same thing with Mexican manufactured guitars and amps.
