All 7 of my guitars are tuned down 1-whole step from standard tuning, DGCFAD.

I guess the majority of us keep at least one standard and one 1/2 step down.

Is there any preference to fingerboard? My 1/2 down is rosewood, and standard is maple. Yours?

2 1/2 steps down??? Whoah Chet, you must have a light touch.

My acoustic is standard. My strat is a 1/2 step down.

I'm pretty sure he meant #2- 1/2 step down

Tuning lower just means that you sometimes have to get bigger strings to not get the 'spaghetti' feeling with the strings.

Standard 440 E tuning with 10-46 nickle steel.

Though I did go through an "Eb with heavy strings" phase about 10 years ago, but it just didn't fit me (cursed with little fingers).

Oh yeah, oops, sorry about that Chet, it sure did look like 2 1/2 steps. That dash sure would've made a difference, hehehehe.
