An epiphany (from the ancient Greek ἐπιφάνεια, epiphaneia, "manifestation, striking appearance") is the sudden realization or comprehension of the (larger) essence or meaning of something. The term is used in either a philosophical or literal sense to signify that the claimant has "found the last piece of the puzzle and now sees the whole picture," or has new information or experience, often insignificant by itself, that illuminates a deeper or numinous foundational frame of reference. This concept is studied by psychologists and other scholars, particularly those attempting to study the process of innovation.

Although epiphanies are only a rare occurrence, following the process of significant labor, there is a common myth that epiphanies of sudden comprehension have also made possible leaps in technology and the sciences.[1][2][4][5] Though famous individuals like Archimedes and Isaac Newton might have had epiphanies, they were almost certainly the result of a long and intensive period of study those individuals have undertaken, not a sudden, out-of-the-blue, flash of inspiration on an issue they have not thought about previously.

In case you were wondering what I was talking about, that was the definition. I finally convinced wifey that a new Fender Bronco 40 was something i really needed and she was O.K. with that. I already have four amps and her arguement was, my equipment is taking over the gameroom.

Well, I went to work yesterday afternoon and a great revelation came to me!

I DON'T need the amp, I WANT the amp. I know. I know, you're saying, "Of course you do, you idiot!" Now hold on, let's talk this thing out. All of the arguments that convinced me to get it in the first place are kind of invalid. What I have will do pretty much all of what the Bronco 40 will do, outside of effects.

Now settle down, I plan on getting one, just not right away. As I mentioned in a previous post, G.A.S. is incurable and as long as we come here and have other friends buying gear, we're hopeless.

Thanks for reading and hopefully, you'll get some understanding too, lol.

GAS is probably some kind of actual psychological disorder where you don't need it but want it anyway, even if it's going to be sitting around and never used. This is the case with most guys with large guitar collections where the instruments sit in their cases and don't see the light of day.

Even so, i still wish i had a big collection  i only have 4 that's not a lot :P

Well, they don't HAVE to be Strats, that's entirely up to you. Whatever you do, do it fast or you'll change your mind, 7 is a good number.

You guys spent the better part of yesterday convincing me that I really needed that new Les Paul. Now your saying that you don't really need that new amp, but that you just desire it. Well here's what I have to say about that. If you want something really bad there is a need for it, and that is to fulfill the desire that causes that little ball in the pit of your stomach called (GAS). there is only one (CURE) for (GAS) and that is to make that purchase. Buy that guitar or amp and be done with it for a while. Just keep in mind that (GAS) is a reoccurring affliction and the cure is only temporary at best. it never hurts to remind your spouse that your not spending the money at the bar, or buying cars, boat's or airplanes just a little guitar once in a while. Then bring up You-Tube and show her that Joe Bonamassa gear Rundown. The man travels with about 30 guitars and uses about 10 in a 2hr. show. he's got several giant amps and speaker cab's and about 100 stomp boxes on the floor. It's magic at it's finest. 8)

When you stop and think about it, how much do we really need? if I were a touring musician, I'd have to have a trailer just for me.

The way you lovingly spoke of that Les Paul, and the way you described it, no doubt in my mind, you were in love.

Oh, I'll get that amp eventually. I just let a 15% coupon slip by. More than likely the next 15% off coupon will be the day it's ordered.

No conspiracy Danny, just a thought, one that snuck out. By tomorrow there's no telling what will be the subject of conversation with all the voices in my head.

Who said anything about a conspiracy? Thats kind of a harsh word to be used in a conversation about our, or at least my, favorite material thing on the planet. I started an online search for a Bonamassa Studio or a Wine Red Studio Deluxe, there available now. I also checked around locally and had no luck at all. for the Bonamassa G.T. I did find a Wine Red Deluxe, with a hard case. Only $1,328.00 & about 30 miles away, so there's my outing for manana. As You Say. (STAY TUNED) 8)

I played an Epiphany Les Paul in a music store last week and I loved it.
