I just got what was supposed to be a 2011 Standard MIM Tele in the mail. I waited 4 hours to let it acclimate. It turns out it's a 2001 and some weird sparkly metallic green color I've never seen before. The serial # is MZ11 and four digits. I can see how someone got it mixed up. I thought the guitar was White Chrome Pearl when I ordered it because the picture was a bit dark and I couldn't see the headstock to tell it wasn't a 2011 but the GC site said clearly '2011'. Sorry for the long story. Will GC give a cash refund?? I didn't want to take the guitar out of the packaging.

yes. i bought a used amp from the website. took it out and played through it. didn't like it, and took it right to my local g.c. refunded my money except for shipping charges.

they are really good about this. that's why i prefer to buy from their used site vs. ebay

Thanks! The whole reason I bought a 2011 was that it wouldn't have any damage and this guitar has multiple dings on the headstock and fretboard and it's not even out of the packaging.

I took the guitar in and they gave me a full refund. The cashier was going to purchase a sparkly green guitar like mine but then I walked in and he said he would buy mine instead since it was $200 cheaper. He was pretty stoked. They didn't have any MIM Standard Teles in the store for $299 so I didn't end up purchasing a different tele. The ones they had were $500+ and I wasn't looking to spend that.

sometimes we are a little tough on guitar center here, but this is an example of a good thing they do

their whole plan was to send you the wrong guitar,then that way they can get you to return it and spend $500+. Cool they gave you a full refund.

I bought a Eipiphone PR150 from them a year ago it kept having fret buzz then the body started to pull up at the bridge, they took it back, I picked out a Fender CD140S witch was $50.00 more and they let me have even up, I thought that was a great deal. I love my Fender.
