Hi all, I am looking to buy a blues junior but there are THREE choices :?
I can get the standard blues junior, the newish Red October or I can still get my hands on an Emerald Green. I know they have different speakers but I need help deciding which is best for me.
- I like a nice warm tone but I want the high ends to sound powerful and sing when im doing string bends.
- I play blues/blues rock.
- Try before buy is not an option where I live :(
- My favourite tones are BB Kings and SRVs
Thanks for your time

Indeed it is. The standard, the Red October or the Emerald Green, can't choose between them.

If either one of them has a Celestion go for that. It's been said on the forum several times now that the Celestions sound far better than the stock speaker that's made by Eminence. When I get the spare change together there's a Celestion Vintage 30 going in mine.

RebelFalcon, I'm thinking that all of them will sound good and I like the looks of the standard but the color decision has to be your choice, lol.

Thanks for the replies, yeah sorry I understand where your coming from but each has a different speaker and I was wondering what tonal differences there were and what would be best for me. Sorry for not making that clearer.

Thanks guitslinger, I know nothing about speakers and there quality.
The Red October has an Eminence Redcoat Wizard speaker.
The Emerald Green has an Eminence Cannabis Rex speaker.

I have a Celestion V30 in mine and it suits me, playing with a Marshall user. You might still find the mk2 Blues Junior Texas Heat model which has the V30 as stock.

But the Emminence Cannabis Rex option in a BJ gets rave reviews from what I've seen.

Which is a shame because red amps are sexier than green ones!

As for tonality, clarity and bigger bottom end are why most people upgrade the stock "Emminence made for Fender" speaker in the mk 1 and 2 BJs. But There is adifferent Emminence speaker in the latest BJ which might already be just fine. I can't tell, I've not tried a mk3.
