I just attached an MXR Carbon Copy Delay Pedal, a Boss CE-5 Chorus Pedal and a Dunlop Crybaby Pedal to my Carvin V3M Amp. I read somewhere (I don't remember where) that if I do not unplug all of the patch cables from the input and outputs of the pedals when not in use, that the batteries will go dead. Is this true? Thank you in advance to anyone who can answer my question.....

Yes, it will greatly shorten or kill your batteries if you don't detach the cables...

Yes, and here's why...
The input jack on effects pedals are the "on" switch. As soon as you plug something into it, the power starts running through it.
My understanding is that all the stomp button is a by-pass switch.
This is why I use a "One Spot" with the six-plug power wire.
Amp and One Spot are plugged into a power strip, so after I power down, I shut the strip off. No power to the pedals (so they can rest), and no batteries required.
