Back in May, Booker T (of MG's fame) http://www.bookert.com/released another solo CD 'The Road To Memphis' http://www.amazon.com/Road-Memphis-Booker-T-Jones/dp/B004S7G6CW/ref=sr_1_1?s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1328382145&sr=1-1. I've had it since than and still play it just about every day.

For the most part, Booker is backed in the studio by 'The Roots' , & on vocals besides Booker T, are Matt Berninger of the National, Yim Yames of 'My Morning Jacket', Sharon Jones and Lou Reed.

Dennis Coffey and 'Capt' Kirk on guitars provide funky riffs to all the song.

But to me, it's ?uestlove's funky drumming and Owen Biddle bass tracks recorded &engineered by Gabe Roth (Dap Kings) that makes this album outstanding IMO.

Thanks for mentioning that one, Tony. We tape the Jimmy Fallon show
and watch it when we can mainly because of The Roots being his regular
band and the awesome guest appearance that sit in with them.

I heard they've been flat out funky at Indy for SB week too!

Hey Tony,
Almost forgot about that one, I got that record last summer. It is really good. 'Walking Papers' is my favorite track.
Thanks for posting

Bill
