I'll let you know after it gets here & I have a chance to play through it. I ordered an E6 thinking it would somehow be closely related to the other Eternity pedals.

Hopefully it's good for Classic Rock, otherwise I'll be sending it back for an Eternity Fuse.

Well the Eternity 6 came in the mail yesterday. I've spent several hours with it & have decided that I'm going to send it back.

Lovepedal makes awesome pedals & this is no exception, but it's too compressed sounding for my taste. I A/B'd it with my OCD version 4 just to compare controls & tone.
Here's what I came away with.

The OCD sounds way more natural (in terms of sounding like a cranked British amp) to me than the Eternity 6. Although, that is not what the Eternity 6 is built for anyway. Even still, compressed distortion sounds fake to me.

The Eternity 6 is WAY more clear & articulate with the drive maxed, whereas the OCD slings total Fat, Heavy Mud with the drive maxed.

The OCD has a tone control. Lovepedal has a different approach to that. The tone knob is actually a Treble boost, which I find to be way more effective at keeping the tone clear on all gain settings.

I ran them side by side on every possible setting always keeping them similar. Ultimately I set them both where my favorite setting on the OCD v4 is.

Volume: slightly higher than unity
OCD set on HP. E6 n/a
Drive: 7 to 8 o'clock range
Tone: Middle

The OCD sounds like a real amp at this setting to my ears. The E6 sounds very compressed & artificial.

So I'd say, no it isn't the best choice for classic rock IMO. When I think of Classic Rock I think of vintage Marshall Grind. The E6 doesn't have it.

I will send it back but will definitely buy another Lovepedal. I think Lovepedal effects stomp the competition with the "Glass" knob feature in place of the traditional tone knob.

My son has the Lovepedal Purple Plexi 100 handwired. I can dime the drive & put my strat on the neck pick up & STILL, it's articulate & clear. It's made to sound like a vintage plexi. Not the modded fake sounding Marshalls of the 80's rock era.

The Purple Plexi 100 completely destroys the OCD IMO for clarity at all levels. Thanks in large part to the "glass" knob.

Sadly, it was a limited run & now the only one I can find is on ebay for $350.00. Luckily, I did manage to buy one for my son before they sold out.
