When we got up this morning there was a little bit of snow falling and they were forecasting up to 4" of snow-which is nothing around here.My wife headed off to work at 9:00 but by 10:00 there was a full fledged blizzard going and by 3:00 over 12" had fell and the little woman thought that she may have to camp out at her work.By 4:00 the snow had stopped completely and amazingly the sun came out.Anyway the Missus got home alright and I called for a plow to do our driveway.I drove the truck up on the lawn to make room for the plow but the snow was deeper than it looked and she bottomed out and I couldn't even budge her in Low Lock. When the plow guy finished the driveway he towed the truck out which was great because I would've had a few hours of heavy shovelling because of the snow the truck had pushed up in under it.Has anybody else been taken off guard by giant snowfalls so far this year?It seems that weather forecasting still isn't an exacting science and I doubt that it ever will be.

It must have been super bad if NFLD'ers consider it a freak storm.

Once upon a time a fue years back a guy from Nebraska transferred into my department. Included in his bag and baggage was a snow plow for his Pick Up, and a cool little walk behind snow blower. Everyone laughed, and told him that he should have sold them before he came, and that he would never get a chance to use them here. well what do you know, that year we had a record snowfall and he became the neighborhood hero plowing driveways and cleaning sidewalks. he even drove over to my house and tuck care of me, and I was one of the ones laughing. I'll never forget the big grin on his face and his "I told you so". I haven't needed one since, and he has moved back to Nebraska. I think that entire thing was about CARMA. 8)
