The ad popped up about two hours ago on a local selling site, and there is not much to say except, a few scratches, original pickups, from the sixties and no name on the instrument. I wanted if possible to have some infos before I call the guy. Thanks in advance.
Claude.

tell him the pickup is bent, and he'll have to lower the price

seriously though - does the owner have no idea what brand it is? without a name and year, it's a little tough to figure out the value

This appears to be a 1960's era Japanese guitar probably made by Teisco or Guyatone. I say that because of the metal control plate which is featured on many of the Teisco E series and Guyatone hollow body electrics and the metal string retainer above the nut which is an often seen Teisco and Guyatone hallmark. The string retainer was used primarily on the solid body instruments, but may have been put on this one because it was 12 string. Sometimes these instruments will have other names on the headstock such as Decca or Kent, but they were made by Teisco or Guyatone no matter what brand is on the headstock. Sometimes the headstock shape can tell you which plant, but I can't see it clearly enough. They are collectible and there are clubs built around collecting them.

The angled pickup is a tip of the hat to Mosrite. This makes me lean toward it being from Guyatone as they copied several Mosrite features on different models.

thanks for the info. i remember seeing the angled pickup on the mosrite, and it just didn't look right to me.

my wifr says i'm bent, so that may have something to do with it

Thanks for the infos guys. I phoned to the owner and since he bought the guitar about two years ago, he never could find reliable informations on the instrument. He thinks it could be a Teisco Audition and having lost interest in the instrument, he just wants to sell it as a collectible. I had more curiosity than buying interest in this guitar myself, but I wanted to know more about it because guitars like that seldom pop-up in my neck of the woods. Thanks again for the quick infos

The asymetrical headstock is indicative of the Audition guitars that were sold through Woolco/Woolworth's,Sears and Eatons back in the mid to late 60s.

those were off-brands by Teisco.

they released a whole bunch of them across many brand names (teisco, arbiter, Audition, etc.) sometimes you can make a good guess which brand if you know when and where it was sold, but sometimes there were more than one of their brands offered in a certain location.
nearly all of them came with the most of the (many, many,)varieties of Teisco headstocks. It might be impossible to actually narrow it down to the brand that exact guitar was sold under without the badges/logos.

Here's a picture of my Teisco made Silvertone. It was originally blue, but it's been painted black. The middle pickup is long gone, but I think it looks better with just two pickups.

Univox and Eastwood/Airline had similar headstocks.
