Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

My faves are:
Male: Donovan,Harry Nillsson,Tomi Swyck,John,Paul and George,Shawn Phillips,Jimi.

Female: Linda Ronstadt,Kate Bush,Nina Perrson of The Cardigans,Connie Francis, Emmy Lou Harris,Enya,Stevie Nicks,Christine McVie,the singer for Sixpence None The Richer, Suzie Boggus,Celtic Woman,Sheryl Crow.

It's funny but that's all the names that come to mind right now and I`m sure that there are dozens more I could come up with in time.

I like or at least respect all of those listed, Elvis is probably the best of the tenors listed, without him rock and roll would be a footnote in music history at best. The same goes for Dusty Springfield, without Dusty female rock and roll singers had nowhere to go but back-up singers. The main ingredient everyone forgot was every R&B, Soul and Funk singer out of Motown, Philly, L.A., Chicago, Cleveland, Gary all across America. Here is an example:

Favorite male singers: Tony Bennett, John Lennon & Paul McCartney, and of course - the only singer who has moved me to tears... Ray Charles.

Favorite female singers: Linda Rondstadt, Gladys Knight, Etta James, Pat Benatar, and of course - the most amazing, most incredible "rags to riches" type of singer... Susan Boyle.

That's a tough one. When asked that question I immediately started to think of my favorite bands, which ironically are not necessarily my favorite singers.

I like Eric Clapton and Cream, but I wouldn't put them on my list of favorite signers. Dig?

Strangely enough Paul Rodgers was the first name to pop in my head. Probably not my #1 band or singer, but both band and singer are kick $@!.

Thant being said, and in no particular order.
Frank Sinatra
Freddy Mercury
Michael McDonald
Michael Jackson
Steve Perry
Randy Travis
etc

I missed the first round on this thread too.
If I went for my top 5 I would have shared two from your list. :P
I'm a huge Incubus fan and Maynard is top notch as well.

I wouldn't consider myself a Huge Incubus fan, but the singer has a fantastic well defined and controlled voice.
I forgot where but I heard some newer studio recordings with his voice pulled out of the mix and it was flawless. with no editing is was just wow......
and Maynard has a very pleasing tone to me.

Oh and my little sister took me to see incubus live, they are one of the best live bands i have ever seen. quite the experience.
