Difference between linear and logarithmic ( audio ) pot ?

Very shortly ;

For use in amp and guitar , the audio pot is the most used, work better, graduation in volume is smooth and regular.

Audio taper is more like we naturally hear smooth and gradual. Anyone who owns an older HRDlx knows what linear taper is. Zero to full tilt by the time you hit three on the volume dial.
