I just installed My Don Mare Super Sport set and oh my god what beautiful tone.....Found out my 87 strat is a strat plus too with the ms written in the square pup cavity.......I cannot believe the 60's strat tone...These are the pickups i've been searching for for years....They are more 60's quacky and bitey than my fat 50's but just so so so sweet and balanced.....these things are worth every cent of the hefty price tag.....There the ones of been hearing in my head or in my favorite gritty blues recordings for years!!... Back to playing..... I'm in heaven!!......I have a new main player!!!

I'm just not up on my adjectives enough to do 'em justice here. All I can say is that they sound magnificent, respond well to pick attack, and even the middle pickup sounds good by itself. The guitar player I've been in a band with for 31 years (I'm the singer/piano player and just picked up guitar a year and a half ago) came by and tried 'em out and said when he gets the money he's going to get a set for his Strat. Heck, I didn't even know he had one. Pretty much all I've ever seen him play is an LP or an SG. His birthday is coming up soon so a few of us are going to pitch in and get him a set...
