The Clavicle ( collarbone ) was only half the injuries... I rolled my front tire off my training bike going around a manhole. Had previously flatted right out the door, ran home threw a spare wheel on which had been sitting all winter ( tubular ) without checking it , too eager to get back on the road. the result was also a broken thumb, ground to the knuckle from ABS ( asphalt body surfing ) as I didn't let go of the bars and a trashed fairly new jersey.. Which of course I felt worse about then myself .....

Sending some healing Mojo Rollie sounds like a sore one, my last fall far as I can remember was about 3 inches ( platform soles, damn glam rock ) no bones broke though a 15 ft fall I could imagine the whole life flashing before my eyes scenario playing out, hope at least the nurses are nice.

Thanks spacewolf.

John, could you send me the link for those 3 nurses? Hoping they're a home health group, lol.

Thanks for asking John. Doctor has me in a big belt that goes round my torso and a big sling attached to it that keeps the arm/shoulder stable and immobile to help it get better. He said a cast wouldn't be possible. The Doc also gave me a spare so I can shower then put the fresh one on and keep switching them. I don't qualify for the micro surgery (only combat related injuries for expensive proceedures like that but I'm not complaining, just what they've done so far would have cost me 10k probably, thankyou VA) so they can only offer general surgery but my medical history has them not recommending that because I wouldn't wake up if they put me under a general anesthetic so I was glad that so far they aren't pushing for me to do that. It would suck to have my shoulder back to 80 or 90% but be in a coma, lol. To make a long story longer the Doc and his team think I'll be back playing guitar in 6 months to a year but I'm going to try for the 6 months or less (wishful thinking) but they said getting my arm up to shoulder height isn't going to happen anymore. Good that I don't play violin and better that I sling my guitar low. Another plus, if that's possible, is I won't be carrying any heavy gear, just my guitar and I have to downsize my rig substantially. While I'm convalescing I'll be trying to write tunes and checking out smaller amps on this website and every other guitar gear website to pass the time :D

Hi Rollie !
Jeez- things have happened since I last visited this thread :!: Since I live a long way from you , I saw no reason to look it up again , as I couldn't join the party, anyhow- though I really would have liked being there !
Good to hear that your spirit seems to be good (still!) If it hurts when you're laughing , it might be some broken ribs , as well ?
I haven't tried to fall from 9' yet - just 7  -as I tried to do some heavy lifting up in a ladder some years ago - the ladder collapsed , and I planted my ribs on the steps of the ladder, with some considerable weight on top of me. I felt no reason to laugh -neither that day nor the next weeks.... Half my body turned black (usually white... )
I healed faster than your aspects seems to be, though. Perhaps it is time to try playing with a keyboard and a computer ? Should not be as physical exhausting as guitar/bass ....?
Wish you a speedy recovery ! I guess you shouldn't be too eager to play , you probably need to relax for a long time..... '53s suggestions -riding a stationary bike- sounded sensible....

Jeez exactly A-man, 6 months Rollie, my patience would be sorely tested, I don't think I'd make a good patient but looking on the bright side you haven't got one of those extended arm in plaster efforts that make you look as though you have an imaginary friend with you at all times :) , good that you didn't have to fork out that 10k, I think I'd be slipping over the border northwards for any treatment costing as much as that...Nevin could probably have sorted you out he's bound to be a surgeon of stature by now and running his own medical practice full of redheaded nurses :) .
