That wasn't as bad as I thought given what people had told me. But still, it would be doubtful whether he'd make it to Hollywood or not if Simon Cowell were the judge of him.

It was better than last year's SuperBowl when what's her name
forgot the lyrics!!!

The cool thing is that the scarf he borrowed from a fan was
autographed (per request) and returned to her afterwards. He is
a friend of the Kraft family and sat with them in their luxury suite
and he's about as much 'New England' as you can get.

Last year's mess :

Hey guess what.....he sounded exactly like Steve Tyler, one of rock's greatest.

Now if anyone expected a smooth singing voice for the masses, they got the wrong Steve. Steve Perry would have made a few more people happy, or maybe less surprised.

Steven Tyler messed up a single word, the Ravens messed up a 31 yard kick. What matters more? (Although, that was an amazing game.)

And I echo the previous response- - - - and the ones before that. Steven Tyler is a legend. I did not notice any flaws in his version of the National Anthem. As always, people will have different opinions.

OK folks...I thought I was the one going deaf...Tyler did screw it up, he was off key a couple times! Was it as bad as some? Not by a long shot, but I have to wonder why a celebrity or singer/musicians who are famous, are asked to do this for championship games? Most screw it up (screach it like Rosanne, forget words, etc.) why not get someone that can ACTUALLY sing this song well. IT IS OUR NATIONAL ANTHEM, not just some ditty song by whoever! If you hear that song and don't get a little choked up inside you might want to take one of those long overdue looks to your inner self.

That's Steven Tyler man ! He put his own spin on it and I personally didn't have any problem with it whatsoever ! Too bad Joe Perry wasn't there playing guitar next to him.

I said the same thing too! Joe Perry would have toped it off well too!

nationalism usually is at the source of the trouble. I think it's nice, he didn't fall off the horse but managed to find a way around it. His own little twist if you want.

cheers
