When I was first started listening to music and there were so many music clubs ( buy 1 get 12 free) yada, yada yada.. I got into TDN at such a young innocent age. I was at Best Buy at Christmas time shopping with my wife and put a TDN cd for thier greatest hits in the buggy. I told my her this would be a good stocking stuffer. Since then Ive listened to the cd about 3 times and boy did the songs bring back some memories. They are hardly mention as a great group. But I understand in the late 60s and early 70s they sold more records than anybody.
heres one it Aint easy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_LEuVgmS71c

I always liked them, even went to see them back in their heyday. Michael Allsup, their guitarist was quite impressive.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

Seen them a couple of times at the local casino, Still sound fantastic, if you get a chance read the book Three Dog Nightmare from former member Chuck Negron, He's lucky to still be alive.

read the chuck negron book "three dog nightmare". it chronicles chucks' drug issues, and how it affected corey and danny-and the rest of the band.

sounds like he's sober now, but it doesn't look like the others want him around anymore. too bad

yeah, I admit to digging this band. Memories of all the barefoot beauties in North Carolina at the Wayne college lunchroom between classes listening to Three Dog Night on the jukebox:

Chuck's drug problems were visited on his son, they were both featured on an episode of Interventions.I always like 3DN .I was surprised to find out that they were white because they had such an R&B and Soul sound. "One" was my favourite song of theirs,it takes a great set of pipes to sing that.

You'd have to ask writer B.W. Stevenson about how the light shines, but he's passed.

"Out In The Country" by TDN was a great recording and one of my favorite TDN tunes but it is largely forgotten.

And yes, once the Beatles wrapped up TDN became the top selling recording artist. "Joy To The World" was a top 5 requested record for about 3 years, at least in the southeastern US. I know because I was answering request lines at numerous stations in multiple markets. That was back when people actually bought records, or cassette taped songs off the radio. (Remember cassettes? They were an "improvement" over 8 track carts.)
