Hi Everyone, I`ve been listening to a lot of Beck lately and I have 3 of his albums but was wondering if anyone could recommend any others. The 3 that I have are :
Best of Beck
You Had It Coming
Emotion & Commotion
Thanks for any suggestions
Joe

"There and Back" is my fave without a doubt, the long fadeout solo on "The Pump" is out of this world, has to be some of the coolest playing ever! "Guitar Shop" is superb as well. 8)

There is a 3 CD Jeff Beck Compilation which you may find interesting. I picked mine up at Loonie Tune's Music shop a while back.....

It's called Beckology, comes in a case printed to resemble a Fender Strat Tweed Case, when you open it up, the inside is printed in a red crush velour, with the impressions of a Strat on the lid.
A 61 page booklet is included...But that is just the candy..
The music goes all the way back to the Tridents, The Yardbirds, Jeff Beck Group, Beck Bogert & Appice and up to Terry Bozio (ex-Missing Persons ) and Tony Hymas....

from this you should be able to pinpoint which CD's you may want and which you wouldn't.
Unfortunately I think it is out of print so you may have to search a bit to find a copy....

( edit ) I just Googled it and found it on Amazon.com so it is available still new or used...

I just played "Blow By Blow" last night. I still think it's one of the best recorded and produced albums ever.

though not technically a Beck album, his work on the Roger Waters album Amused to Death is utterly delicious IMO. I think i'll throw it on right now actually to warm up the techshop.

Howdy!

Lots of good suggestions posted here already, but if you liked You Had It Coming you should grab yourself a copy of Jeff (Released in 2003)

An awesome album. Track 4 - Seasons is such a tune! 8)

Working... But I only have another month of this current project to go and then I'll get my life back for a few months.

Hopefully meet up with you and a few of our fellow Forumites soon! :D

Enjoy!

Andy

I agree with 'There And Back' some great stuff on there, 'The Final Peace' is one of the best instrumental tracks I've ever heard.
Also 'Blow By Blow' as some amazing jazz runs that really hit the mark, yes, these two are my personal favourites. Better than his later albums, that have too harsh a sound for my liking but still awesome playing skills.

I love the album "Wired". Great instrumental album with Jan Hammer on keyboards.
