I have a large collection of goofy toys that I rotate around the studio, but these guys - a gift from my kids one birthday - are always in the place of honor, near the stairs, next to my main guitar:

Of all the tchotchkes 'round here - my Homestar Runner gang figurines, the hand-carved band of devils from Oaxaca, my wind-up Bender - these are my faves. They go to 11.

All I have at work is My guitars as the wallpaper on my laptop.

No, nothing guitar-ly at work except a few fellow players on the 5th floor to occasionally chat with.

Wow, everybody has *office* jobs.

Any blue collars around here???

I'm currently jobless, just hangin' around waitin' for something to happen really. But my last job was working at a horse stables. I could've took my ole' acoustic with me for days when business was slow. We usually had radio or some CD's blaring out of the barn.

I work in a studio so it's very rarely boring! :D

If you do ever get bored however, there's office chair jousting, or paper plane making competitions orrrr...

Nothin really around the office, but I spend half of my time out in the middle of nowhere so my Alvarez MSD-1 is always behind the seat in the pickup whenever I'm out of the office.

In the office here too. Only guitar related distractions are the fender forums, watching gears for sale on CL and a buddy lawyer here who's an old school bluegrass player.

Hope you're recording some creative types and not just studio musicians doing commercials and TV show themes. That is a part of my life I'll never get back. It's not much better where I'm at right now. If I grabbed my kid's framed picture and left, nobody would ever know that I inhabited this cube. What on earth happened to me? I'll have to bring something in to give me a reason to go on with this drab existence from 9am-6pm. Outside of these hours, I love my life..

I work in an architecture studio.

:)

I'd LOVE to work in a recording studio.

Sorry to hear about your disdain for your job. Easier said than done but maybe time for a change? :/

Ya know man, I did that once. Just walked in one day, left a note on my bosses desk and left. It felt really good. I haven't worn a tie or sat in a cube since. Don't let the cube suck the life outta ya.

Start planning your escape now. You don't want to end up 55 with major depression, divorced, just basically broken down by a damn career. There's always other ways to make money.
