Thank god it quit snowing. The temp. came up to 44* and its raining like crazy. Now all we have to worry about is High Wind tonight and tomorrow, and the local rivers going out of there banks. there are some 300,000 customers without power already if we get the wind tonight There will be more than that. so far ours has flickered once or twice but so far so good. I've got my Generator ready to go and 20gal. of gas just in case. 8)

glad to hear you are prepared danny. electricity is a luxury, not a necessity. with some of the new regulations set to take affect, alot of folks are going to realize this. higher utility bills for a "greener" USA.
like you sir, i am prepared.

With regards to your comment about electricity not being a necessity. when you take into account all the folks that require the old spark for there very existence. As do those on home respirator's / home oxygen equipment / home dialysis equipment, and many other appliances that allow them to continue living at home. I think you could have given a little more thought to your remark. Electricity a luxury, I don't think so. Not in today's world. 8)

----Danny,

+1 for having a generator and gas and being prepared though! When I lived in Florida a few years back we had four Hurricanes hit our area in one year, and having that generator and gas gave us some necessities like a cold drink, warm food that you couldn't cook on a gas grill (although you would be suprised just how much you can put on a grill if you HAVE to!).

Good luck and hope the rivers stay within thier banks, but if they don't that you and yours stay safe.

We got about a 1/2 inch of freezing rain tonight and everything is slick as snot out there...and did I mention it is about 16 degrees out there? I really hate the midwest winters!

Long wet spells followed by rain followed by more long wet spells. Then if Summer comes, a little sun may shine.

----Danny,

Hey Danny, that's the way it is in Scotland too  it's always raining, sometimes it even rains all summer too :P and occasionally we manage to get a good summer, but not very often.

Well at least we'll never run out of water

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.
