Now if Fender would just make even ONE of these in an actual adult nut width size (43mm+) I might buy one. As it is, they're great for girls and grade-schoolers, that's about it.

Great consolidation of information. Maybe you might be aware of a Jaguar Blacktop model I just purchased. It isn't the standard Blacktop Jag. It has a bound neck, Jazz style knobs and the color is "Blizzard Frost". I purchased it new at Guitar Center but did not get an owners manual, etc. They told it didn't come with one. I'm curious as heck about this model because there is nothing on the Net that has this Jag's specs. Even on the Fender site. I also can't find owners manual. I can locate one for the standard Jaguar Black Top series for that matter.

Any information you can share would be appreciated.

Regards,s

I saw a Surf Strat yesterday close up. I didn't have time to play it so I cannot comment about its playability or sound. It did look really, really cool, and the tinted neck looked closer to a Classic Vibe than a Vintage Modified. Are the VMs now made in the CV plant? I'll go back and play it one of these days. I really hope that I don't like it, because I already have 5 Strats and I don't need any more.

The American Standards got some tasty upgrades. Custom Shop pickups and a contoured Tele body are just few of these juicy improvements. Not all models are upgraded: the HSS Strat had the TexMex/Diamondback array and 5-string basses use standard alnico V pickups.

The American Standard HSS deserves two Fat 50s and a Duncan Pearly Gates Plus.

I'm not normally a fan of MIC guitars but a surf green; Vintage Modified Surf Stratocaster will find it's way home very soon ....

Truly dreadful news.just when I had got over telecasters a bling encrusted eye torturer comes along to drown my taste modules and overcome my sanity diodes. Its hard being a Nexus 6.The thing is ,singing and playing rhythm and a bit of lead ,four knobs would suit me well.{no pun intended} :D
I played a Classic player jaguar special today and loved it .It bit sharp on the fret ends but otherwise perfecto.I havnt actually worked out the switch combos but it looks like Leo's design wasnt daft after all .I will probably wait for the new Squier VM's to come out and then compare . jaguars suit me the best I have discovered after about 52 of playing ,with a 30 year gap :(
