just got a near mint strat plus deluxe for $550 with all the case candy! it has an N7 serial number on the back dated to 97-98 according to the guitar dater. the only flaw I notice is the edge of the fingerboard looks like the clear soaked in the rosewood grain. I have never seen this before anny suggestions on what i can do to repair/reverse it or is this normal for this model? I tried to get a decent picture of it but my phone doesn't have a good close up feature  I really dig the metallic flake in the burst :D

its an N7 not an N3, my bad

That's beautiful--love the finish and the mother-of-toilet-seat pickguard; that's just gorgeous...Happy New Guitar Day!

I'll probably be corrected by several people who are more in the know, but I think that era was one of the best for the "modern" Fenders...they were putting modern appointments on basic retro designs as well as funky pup combinations (Big Apple Strat, anyone?). Very cool, if you weren't going for a straight classic/reissue.

$550?! That's a smokin' deal you got there. Congrats! I'm sure it plays and sounds as great as it looks. :)

Thats an unbelievably beautiful guitar for that kind of money. If it was mine I wouldent mess with it. If that little dark spot on the neck really bothers you, try very gently exposing a little of the grain in the darkened section and liberally applying some fresh lemon juice with a Q Tip, that will probably do the trick. Then carefully polish it out, good luck. I've used this little trick several times and have had good success with it. 8)

its hard to see in photos but its not dark spots its the grain of the rosewood. it looks like the clear soaked into the wider portions of the grain thefull length down the edge of the neck. kinda like canyons in the clear following the grain.

Nice Plus Deluxe you have there- interesting serial number however, I would have thought N3 was 1993- however the logo and the pick guard suggest otherwise. Is the neck pickup a blue lace sensor? I cannot make out it out in the photo :)

Congrats :)

parts for this bridge system are difficult to locate  I had one prior to this guitar and sold it because I couldn't find a new insert for the saddle. you almost have to buy a whole extra bridge....... I am actually still looking for a few for an emergency backup stash. in a live situation during a string change they can be easily misplaced

oh well, Thanks any way, I will keep looking. By the way, how the guitar's sound? I have not played mine since the saddle went missing. What kind of music do you play on that guitar? It's a good looking guitar, it must be so cool when the stage light shines on it!!!

the few places I play don't have good lighting  so I cant really tell. but it plays good and sounds great. I still prefer my 62 hotrod though.
