I partially understand why Fender and other companies would LOVE to do away with Craigslist or Ebay, etc. If you can't find a used guitar that someone is selling there for $200-$300 then you'll have to buy a new one for $600.

If it's made more difficult to buy one elsewhere and there's fewer options then the hope is it will drive their sales. It makes sense from a business standpoint but I still don't like it.

Now I don't understand the Wikipedia angle, if you use that site you should know that it is undocumented and maybe inacrrurate, don't understand who that is hurting. Does the guy selling Encyclopedia Britannica door-to-door really blame poor sales on Wiki?

SOPA Corporate sponsors and supporters

Lot of companies on that list I used to deal with,
will be looking elsewhere when purchase time comes around again.

That list includes fender, gibson, taylor, peavey, shure.

If SOPA were to be passed its effects would be far more wide reaching the just The U.S. , which is why I'm surprised that it hasn't been all over the news here. I also thought that the UN would have said something by now.

Government is, by design, now growing exponentially and some one has to pay for this abomination. SOPA and PIPA are the first salvo (or more like excuse) to regulate and ultimately over-tax the internet. It was a wonderful thing while it lasted but any corporate sponsors of these bills will rue the day of their sponsorship in fairly short order. Can you say ka-boom, goodbye to the free flow of information.

Congress has no clue! Just look at the state of our country since 1990, getting lower every day. Democrats, Republicans nether care for the public there in it for the money and to screw each other. Idiots keep electing some of the worst just because they like the way one may look or talk and know nothing about them. This next election is going to have two worthless choices to pick from. Ones already failed four years and I have no faith in the opponents with the choices they have come up with.

''Government is, by design, now growing exponentially and some one has to pay for this _abomination_''

an unintended pun, but fits the current state of affairs. however I fear the one referenced will have the last laugh.
